Programs are offered to the defendants as an option to traffic schools. These programs are
not regulated by the Department of Motor Vehicles and/or the Court. The Court recognizes
these programs for use; however, the Court and the DMV assume no liability for the schools
actions.
IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE
READ THE FOLLOWING: If you choose to complete a Home Study course, we
recommend that you sign up for the school of your choice within (5) days following
authorization from the Court to attend. This time frame is necessary in order for you to
complete your course on or before your due date. You will also be responsible for
returning your completion certificates to the Court on or before your due date. In
addition to English, these programs offer Spanish courses.

Home Study Courses Requirement:
The Alameda County Superior Court requires that all students who select a home study
course have their identity verified. Please review the procedures and make sure you
research and understand the total cost of the course including additional fees (if any)
for the verified testing procedure

California Vehicle Code Section 42005
prohibits drivers with a class A, class B or commercial class C driver license from
attending traffic violator school for the purposes of dismissing and suppressing traffic
violations from a driving record. This prohibition applies to any violation issued on
September 20, 2005, or later and committed with any class of motor vehicle.
